The founders had a vision of values at heart, which they wanted to implement and furthermore instil in their staff for their personal development and empowerment.

• Economic development combined with individual professional growth
  Musangano Lodge aims to contribute to the economic development of Zimbabwe through job creation and support to the local community. At the same time, the lodge serves as a focal point for training staff in technical and hospitality skills on the one hand and a professional attitude towards work on the other hand. Integrity, hard work, reliability, commitment, responsibility and team spirit are key components. The result is a flourishing business in a competitive environment with dedicated staff, who apply their professionalism for individual growth.

• Ploughing into the community - social responsibility at work
  Musangano Lodge, together with local artists, set up MutARE Tales, a cultural development and exchange programme. The concept aims to give aspiring local musicians, poets, comedians, dancers, actors and any other form of creative expression a platform to showcase and develop and nurture their talent. Through this social commitment Musangano supports the art  community in the wider Mutare region.
  
  
• Sustainability and conservation - awareness and efforts
  Human beings are interconnected with nature, providing us an infinite source of food for our survival and soul. Musangano comprises an area of 140 ha of miombo woodland and  we consider ourselves custodians of this important natural resource. The lodge introduced tree and bird lists, planted indigenous trees and discouraged invasive alien species. Furthermore, only dead wood is taken from the bush for fire word. Intruders, who enter the property to fell trees, are followed up on. Moreover, the lodge has expanded its capacity to make use of renewable resources. A biogas digester produces gas from organic waste, heating up hot water for the kitchen. The first phase of a solar power plant was set up in 2018. The extension of solar power in particular will contribute in the future to the worldwide efforts to reduce climate change.
