Tucked away on the lower slopes of a tree-covered hillside in the Eastern district of Zimbabwe lies a delightful little lodge known by the name of Musangano Lodge - meaning ‘the place where people meet' in the local Shona language. If you are looking for the ultimate getaway in the Eastern Highlands, with the promise of complete tranquillity and spectacular scenery, Musangano Lodge is the ideal location. Visitors soon fall under its spell because of its serene and peaceful atmosphere, charming accommodation, superb cuisine, and stunning views, which invite to linger and unwind.

Our Accommodation

Musangano Lodge offers spacious and well-equipped accommodation under thatched chalets and lodges for up to 32 guests. All houses are tastefully furnished, with attention to detail, and decorated in an ethnic style to create a homely and cosy atmosphere. They are well spaced for your privacy and yet only a few minutes away from the restaurant and reception area. From the covered porches visitors will appreciate the outstanding distant views across the broad Odzi River Valley towards the dramatic granite ramparts of the Eastern Highlands. Our picturesque Cuckoo Campground is an ideal stopover en route to Mozambique, Masvingo, Gonarezhou and/or the Save Conservancy. Furthermore, it is a perfect location for touring the many attractions of the Eastern Highlands.

Where we are

Musangano Lodge is conveniently situated a 3 hours’ drive from the capital Harare (236 km) at the gateway of the Eastern Highlands. It is 1.5 km away from the main road that links Harare (international airport) with the border town of Mutare (28 km away from the Lodge), the exit point for Mozambique. From there it takes you a mere 3 hours to reach the Indian Ocean.
