Zimbabwe is located in southern Africa and lies within the Tropics. As a landlocked country it is surrounded by Mozambique to the east, South Africa to the south, Botswana to the southwest and Zambia to the northwest. Furthermore there is a small area in the far west of the country where Namibia and Zimbabwe share a small border.

Zimbabwe is characterized by a moderate climate due to its altitude, mainly between 800 and 1700 metres. It is home to the spectacular Victoria Falls, one of the seven natural wonders in the world. Furthermore it boasts various wildlife areas, which are ideal for game viewing, be it Hwange National Park east of Victoria Falls, private game reserves in the in the southeast lowveld or spectacular game viewing opportunities along the Zambezi River and Kariba Dam. In the south eastern part of the country lie the awe-inspiring Great Zimbabwe Monuments, the ‘House of Stone’, after which the country was named at Independence in 1980. The east of the country, known as the Eastern Highlands, is reputable for its imposing mountains and breathtaking scenery - rugged granite boulders, refreshing waterfalls, steep gorges and endless views. Explore and enjoy all this with Musangano Lodge as your base.

Musangano Lodge is conveniently situated a 3 hours’ drive from the capital Harare (236 km) at the gateway of the Eastern Highlands. It is 1.5 km away from the main road that links Harare (international airport) with the border town of Mutare (28 km away from the Lodge), the exit point for Mozambique. From there it takes you a mere 3 hours to reach the Indian Ocean.

Luxury, tranquility and good value with an African ambiance

Musangano Lodge is the perfect place for an away from it all break, a honeymoon, or as a base from which to explore the beautiful, green parts of Zimbabwe's Eastern Highlands. It's set in woodland grounds, and at night you can sleep in your own Hansel and Gretel thatched cottage in the woods, under a dark starry night sky where the milky way appears as bright as it was above the UK 50 years ago. The food is excellent and you will receive 5 star personal attention from the friendly staff.

Holiday at Musangano Lodge

Musangano Lodge is just the place to be if you are looking for a quiet environment where there is peace & tranquillity. Despite the current economic challenges prevailing in the country at the moment, the Lodge was able to provide the best of service to my family during our stay there. The staff were very friendly & ready to assist at all times, the room was freshened up timeously each day & Musangano Lodge has now become our home away from home each time we visit Mutare & we look forward to every visit as a family.

Excellent Place

Musangano Lodge was beautiful. We went as a group of two familes, and stopped there for a night on our way to Vilanculous, Mozambique. The people were great, the accommodation was so cozy and welcoming and the place was so quite and peaceful. I would love to go back to spend a few more nights.

Musangano is the place to stay

From the time you check in and they show you to your room you know you are in good hands. The place has the ambience of a home away from home. Each of the Lodges is very private and once had a party of 8 over the weekend and we had a blast. The place is very secure. Watching the sunset from Musangano is very therapeutic, and I would drive from wherever I was to go back to the Lodge and watch the sunset while liquidating a cold Zambezi. Make sure you don't breakfast that is the best part to get you going in the morning. Why would anyone stay anywhere else? Musangano is the place you can stay, work and play.

Such a welcoming
yet secluded environment

Beautiful, spacious, well-equipped lodges with personable staff and some lovely walks in the vicinity. Very kid friendly with a pool and playground. Very good food in PuMuchataka Restaurant on the grounds if you need a break from self-catering

Peaceful, serene and at one with nature and the surrounds

One of the most peaceful, simple and qualitative places I know. The design of the facility is truly African and yet the finesse and finish is truly modern and world class. The service is matched by few other resorts and the restaurant serves quality flavourful food. I recommend this facility for conference and for family relaxation and personal retreat...especially personal quiet time to work or relax.

Amazing Lodge (I)

We had a one night stay over ay Musangano Lodge in Zimbabwe. It was absolutely amazing!! We arrived late at night and they were done for the night, but they woke up and came to meet us with a smile even. They were so kind. The family lodge with three bedrooms and full kitchen and living area was so great. It was clean, comfortable, beautifully decorated. I can't say enough about how wonderful it was. [...]

Amazing Lodge (II)

[...] The next morning we woke up and were shocked at the beautiful view we had of the valley right off the cool front patio. We sat there and just took it all in, it was spectacular. We ate at the restaurant they had there and loved it! It's beautiful and the food was wonderful. We checked out and the front desk people were so kind and friendly and really wanted to make sure we had a good time! It was definitely a five star rating lodge! I would very highly recommend this lodge!
